How we verify channels

Last updated October 4, 2026

Local sports TV changed more in 2026 than in the previous decade. FanDuel Sports Network shut down, and dozens of NBA and NHL teams moved to local stations, DAZN, Prime Video or their own apps. Pages that were right last season are often wrong now. So every channel on this site carries its source and the date we last checked it.

Where the facts come from

  • Local TV and streaming for each team: the team's own announcement, or the broadcaster's. When only a news report confirms a deal, the source line names the outlet so you can tell the difference.
  • National games (ESPN, ABC, NBC, Peacock, Prime Video, TNT and others): the league's and networks' published national TV schedules.
  • Game schedules and start times: nflverse (NFL, CC BY 4.0), CollegeFootballData and CollegeBasketballData (college football and men's basketball, including each game's TV pick), TheSportsDB (NHL, MLS, NBA preseason) and BALLDONTLIE (NBA, MLB, WNBA), refreshed daily and spot-checked against the leagues' own schedules.
  • NFL Sunday afternoons: CBS and FOX games are regional — which game a market gets is set each week by the networks. We show your team's local CBS/FOX station and link to the published coverage maps rather than copying them.

How a game's “how to watch” is built

  • National broadcasts come first: they reach the whole country.
  • If a national broadcast is exclusive, we stop there. The local channels don't carry that game.
  • Otherwise we list each team's local outlet for its own home market, from that team's verified season deal.
  • If we haven't verified a team's local channel, the page says “Local channel not verified yet”. We never fill the gap with a guess or with last season's channel.

Times

Start times are shown in Eastern and Pacific time and stored in UTC, so daylight-saving changes (November 1, 2026 and March 14, 2027) don't shift a game. A game without a confirmed start time shows TBD.

When something changes

A new deal, a moved game or a changed start time is written to the team page's What changed list with the date. We re-check facts against their sources during the season; the date on each fact moves only when someone actually re-checked it.

Spotted a wrong channel?

Email [email protected] with the team or game and what you're seeing (your area helps: local channels differ by market). We check it against the source, fix it, and the change shows up in the team page's What changed list.

What we don't do

  • We don't stream games or link to unofficial streams.
  • We aren't affiliated with any league, team or network. Team and network names belong to their owners.
